higher education or seeking employment within a related industry.The UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is a transformative qualification that provides a transition from general education to autonomous specialist art and design education.The qualification has been designed to encourage independent exploration, experimentation and risk taking. This enables learners to demonstrate the ability to be autonomous in their specialist practice and demonstrate a full understanding of the standards required to achieve progression into higher education, employment or entrepreneurship.UAL Awarding Body is currently the UK's largest provider of the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design qualification.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualifications. However, it is recommended that students have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or grade C, including Maths and English, and one A level, or equivalent Level 3 qualification, preferably in a relevant creative subject.International students are expected to demonstrate that they have a good

Mandatory units covered in this course are: Unit 1: Diagnostic Investigation into Creative Practice and Developing Specialist Practice Consolidating Practice. Units 1 and 2 are graded Pass only. The overall qualification grade is based on
Unit 3 and is graded as Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction. It is designed to meet the funding requirements of: a 16–19 study programme and Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
